The Transformative Power of Volunteering - Part 1

Writer: Sandra MartinezSandra Martinez

Through volunteering, you can impact the lives of many young people, but this process directly impacts you as well.

Our mission is to create trusting, long-lasting relationships by being permanently present in the lives of young people. To achieve this mission, it is crucial to have a network of volunteers who are willing to spend quality time with the youth in Club Aslan. Having the support of various volunteers provides Club Aslan members with more opportunities to connect with different people and to interact more comfortably with adults who offer them safety, trust and respect. Additionally, the possibility of sharing similar interests in a game, activity, sport, art or topic is common.

Volunteering helps you improve your skills in teaching others, develop strategies to become a good leader and enhance effective communication with those you share with. By getting involved in volunteer activities, you learn to have more confidence in yourself and in what you can achieve with your talents because you step out of your comfort zone and see the impact on the lives of young people, as well as your own. This creates greater awareness and confidence as you discover your strengths and passions while volunteering.

Through volunteering, we create bonds and relationships with other volunteers, forming a team of mutual support and trust that works together for the same mission. It is a great opportunity to meet volunteers from different cultures and create lasting connections to learn something new from other cultures.
